heart seeds & quiet gratitude

Happy November, lovely ones.

You may have noticed the cadence of Lucia stories, emails, daily notes, and social media shares has slowed in recent months. We are still here. Issue Three is still coming into form. It is beautiful and not quite done. I've been softly searching, soliciting, and waiting for just the right stories to complete it. There are also plans in the works for some exciting changes online...all to come.

Important things like living-earning keep me from focusing entirely on this work each day, as I long to be able to do. But like the tortoise in the race, Lucia seems to want to just keep going.

I wanted to take this moment to write to you, our readers, contributors, supporters, and friends...and say thank you. Thank you for being patient with me and with Lucia. Thank you for being creative. Thank you being inspiration. Thank you for believing in an independent print and online journal that gives voice to the heart and celebrates true beauty.

I found these red winterberries on an autumn walk, and they reminded me of heart seeds...those ideas, hopes, dreams and desires that begin as tiny inklings inside our hearts and grow slow, one pulse beat at a time. It is autumn sliding into winter, and a good time to plant heart seeds.

What will grow come spring? Plant wisely, nurture well.
